The Hub is the City of Boston's employee intranet. It was designed to streamline the daily work and personnel self-service tasks of nearly 20,000 employees over a variety of devices.
The project began with a period of intense research and discovery. The process involved several dozen stakeholder interviews, on-site usability testing of the original site, and a thorough assessment of content. Once the research and recommendations were complete, the Tactile team worked with the client and the development team, Acquia, to produce wireframes and look & feel designs. Meanwhile, the content team worked to assign all existing text to the new information architecture and ensure proper communication about revisions and additions.
